As we reported back in October, Target is partnering with celebrated womenswear and accessories designer Jason Wu to introduce an affordable, limited-edition collection of women’s apparel, handbags and scarves.
For his collection for Target, Wu took inspiration from the idea of an American girl in Paris, while staying true to his signature juxtaposition of modern sensibility and timeless style. Ranging in price from $19.99 to $59.99 for apparel and $19.99 to $49.99 for handbags and scarves, Jason Wu for Target will be available Feb. 5 through March 6, 2012 or until supplies last at most Target stores and on Target.com.
Target is partnering with internationally renowned designer Josie Natori to introduce its first limited-edition collection of lingerie and loungewear.
Josie Natori for Target is a luxurious, yet affordable collection that will arrive in two seasonally themed installments—the first is available Oct. 30 through Dec. 22, 2011 in time for the holiday season; the second will be available Jan. 1 through Feb. 23, 2012 in time for Valentine’s Day. Ranging in price from $9.99 to $34.99, both installments of Josie Natori for Target will be available at most Target stores and Target.com.
I’m so excited about Target’s next collaboration with one of Michelle Obama’s favorite designers, Jason Wu. Remember her dress at the inaugural ball? Gorgeous! If you’re not familiar with his work, I’ve showcased a few of my fav pieces from his New York Fashion Week Spring 2012 collection above.
I’m trying to get over my bad attitude about Target collaborations after the Missoni debacle. I really want to be as excited about this collab, as I was about all the other affordable designer collections they’ve launched. I’m not sure what the solution is to managing this event properly (check out Who’s to Blame? Target or Ebay?), but I’m hoping this collab will go much better than the last. The Jason Wu line will hit Target February 5th, so they’ve got plenty of time to figure it out. Prices will range from $19.99 to $59.99 for apparel and $19.99 to $49.99 for handbags and scarves.
What do you all think about Target’s collaboration with Jason Wu? Are you excited to see what their next designer collection will have in store for all of us?
So I’ve read a few posts around the web from disappointed bloggers about the Missoni for Target #epicfail. The much awaited collection sold out in stores and online in a day, give or take a few scarves and socks, and according to some sources, Target has no plans to restock. If the fab fashion landed in the hands of true fans, then that’s fair – you snooze you lose; however, for the most part, it did not! True indeed some people were able to hit Target stores at 9:00 on a Tuesday morning and racked up, but it’s looking like the vast majority of the collection landed on Ebay within hours (30,000 items post launch and 42,869 as of a few minutes ago)!

Have any of you shopped the Missoni for Target collection yet? My friend Ursula was beyond excited and sent me these pics this morning. She tweeted that she must have looked like a hoarder running through target. I’m pretty sure she was there right after dropping the kids off at school lol. Can you imagine what a tease it is to see what she picked up as I’m stuck at my office desk???
Ursula has a 4-year old daughter that I refer to as “my neice” and I can’t wait to see her in the skirt and poncho! That little girl has personality for days and will wear it well. Ursula is also an amazing interior decorator, so I love sneaking a peak at what she picked up from the home collection.
Last night Lizzie Olsen, actress and younger sister to Mary Katy and Ashley Olsen, was spotted at the Missoni for Target pop-up store launch in New York City. She wore a Missoni for Target dress (available September 13th – view lookbook) which was was paired with JewelMint’s Astoria Necklace and Zoe Bangle.
