Fall Look – Beads, Tweed, and Riding Boots

I ended up with 3 packages in the mail the other day and everything went together so perfectly that I thought I’d do an outfit post. ShopSueyBoutique.com allowed me to pick up the item of my choice and I had to have their red, gold, and brown beaded statement necklace. I love the colors and there is something about this necklace that fits so well with the tribal trend that is popular right now. I have never really worn necklaces – I’m much more of a bracelet and earrings kinda girl – but this one has definitely converted me! It’s so fun!

Honestly, I cannot gush enough about these boots! They look like real leather, somehow smell like real leather, and the quality is unreal. The last item to grace my mailbox that day was an ivory 3/4 tabbed sleeve tee from StyleMint. Have any of you ever tried dry shampoo before? I LOVE it! I try not to wash my hair everyday to help preserve the color and health usually stripped by detergents in shampoo. Dry shampoo helps me get by with an extra day or two without washing it. If you’re new to dry shampoo, it is a wet powder that you spray into your roots that dries to soak up excess oil and makes your hair smell freshly washed. If you have thin hair, its great for adding a little texture.

One of my first reviews was for Salon Grafix Dry Shampoo. At the time, I thought it was the best thing ever, until TRESemmé sent me a bottle of their Fresh Start dry shampoo. I’m going to compare the two so that you can get an idea of what to look for in a dry shampoo.

• Sprayer: My main problem with the Salon Graffix dry shampoo was the sprayer. I got a buy one, get one half off deal and the sprayer on both bottles was broken. Luckily I was able to return them for replacements, but even the sprayers on the new bottles were spitting at me. The TRESemmé sprayer offers a super-fine even mist of dry shampoo. Who wants clumps of thick powder on top of unwashed hair?
• Color of Powder: The Salon Graffix dry shampoos come in a variety of colors such as brunette, black, and blonde. I loved this idea at first, but after a while, I found brown overspray on my floor and in my ears lol. Dry shampoo gives your hair a matte finish, so I never spray it on top of my hair. I always spray it in sections under my part and push it through the rest of my hair. Therefore, I prefer the clear/white of the TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoo.
• Availability: I couldn’t find the Salon Grafix dry shampoo anywhere in town, so I had to purchase it online. I have seen the TRESemmé in all drugstores, WalMart, and Target.

Happy Manicure Mondays! I’m so exicted to share my latest discovery in manicures with you all. I just heard about this polish for the first time last week and Layla, the Italian company that distributes this fun polish, sent me three colors from their 12-piece Magneffect collection to try out.

I was so surprised at how much I was able to pick up at Kmart for under $80. I always knew that their apparel and beauty products were affordable, but I was surprised because I had no idea they had such a great selection. Kmart was nice enough to give me a $200 gift card and I have to be honest, I hadn’t been there in years – my go to stores have been Target and WalMart, so it’s nice to know that I have another stop for more options!
