Ashlee Shevonne Burberry Look For Less DIY

Reader Look For Less – Ashlee~Shevonne Burberry DIY

I always love my reader looks for less, but this one by Ashlee~Shevonne, is above and beyond! Not only is this a designer look for less, but the top and shoes, signature pieces of the Burberry Prorsum spring 2012 runway, are DIYs!!! She actually did a 3 part series showcasing the shoes, the top, and then she shows you a couple of ways to put the looks together.

About her look Ashlee~Shevonne wrote, “I love to dress! I’m a definite style chameleon who loves to mix high and low but more than anything, loves a great deal! I was so in love and so inspired by the Burberry Prorsum Spring 2012 runway show that I decided not only to blog about it, but recreate on of my favorite looks from the collection. The top is a DIY from my one of my Army uniform t-shirts and some pattern blocks purchased at a school supply store. The shoes are also a DIY from a pair of Dolce Vita sandals, craft store beads, and painted with nail polish! Both DIY projects can be seen on my blog!”

What do you all think of Ashlee~Shevonne’s Burberry look for less? Is this a DIY you would try?

Dolce Gabbana Stars Magazine Cover

Look For Less Dolce And Gabbana Stars Dress

The wildly popular Dolce & Gabbana stars that graced the Fall/Winter 2012 runways are popping up on magazine covers and red carpets everywhere. Yakini is back with an amazing look for less in not just one, but three celebrity inspired outfits. Check out her blog, Style Me Prissy, to see how she styled her stars!

About her look, Yakini wrote “This look was inspired by the Fall 2011 RTW sheer star print yellow gown. Kim Kardashian donned the silk chiffon frock while doing a magazine photo shoot in Malibu and I really liked the free and billowy feel of the dress. I also loved the ultra feminine front ribbon tie.

When I found a star print vintage tea dress on eBay (GBP 24.99) my heart went pitter-patter! It’s so dainty and pretty! I added pops of color with suede mustard heels (thrifted) and accessories that consisted of a skinny belt, slim clutch, and scarf (all from Target). The day I took photos there happened to be a gorgeous fall breeze blowing that was perfect as I was able to stay true to the flowy, airy feel that this outfit inspired in me.”

Melanie Fiona Look For Less

Reader Look For Less – Angela

Angela is back with another amazing look for less. I copied her LeToya Luckett look for less the day after she submitted her outfit post. What Angela does best is take basics that most of us have in our closets already and pair them in a way that is oh-so-stylish! You can wear this look with any color skinny jeans, but I just happened to pick up some rust colored skinnies yesterday so I’ll definitely be trying this look soon.

About her look, Angela wrote “I loved this outfit when I saw Melanie Fiona rock it at Rip the Runway earlier this year! I had all of the pieces, but I decided to make it a more casual look instead. You can’t see it in the picture, but the blazer has brown suede patches on the elbows, which I love. The leopard print scarf probably has no place in this outfit, but I LOVE this scarf so I’m always trying to incorporate it somehow lol. I can’t remember the exact price of each piece, but I can assure you that everything was under $50 :-)”

Katy Perry Gucci Elle Magazine Look For Less

The Breakdown

Gucci is all about color-blocking this season and I was so excited to try the trend when I recreated Camilla Belle’s red carpet look in my Summer Style Series. I think Yakini of Style Me Prissy just took it to the next level with her “Katy Perry on the cover of Elle magazine” Gucci look for less. Wow! She looks amazing! This is a look that is bound to turn heads and it put a huge smile on my face when I saw it!

Carla Look For Less

I’m loving this look by Carla of the super stylish blog, Little Miss Violet. She worked in so many trends, yet her look is not overdone at all. I love that she’s working multiple prints with the patterned trousers and leopard pumps and it’s all pulled together with the bright blue pop of color top.

About her look Carla wrote, “I got this top from my mom’s store called MPT clothes and accessories, and I totally forgot about it until recently when the the heat took over and I needed to find as much clothes that I can withstand the heat with but still possibly be stylish. The trousers were an old purchase too, from a local store, or more like a market, in Zhuhai, China. I fell for the prints.

The shoes were from Zhuhai too. I consider things I purchase from the underground shopping mall in Zhuhai a thrift find, hence this is one of my thrift finds. The necklace, I got it on sale during the million dollar sale at the Venetian, Macau. Originally, It cost around US $250, but I got it for only $25. Can you believe I only paid for 10% of its price? It was a really great deal and I realized that once I found out Grosse was a quality jewelry brand.”

What do you all think of Carla’s style? Is this a look for less you would try?

Fima Bright Pink Pleated Skirt Look For Less

Doesn’t this pic look like it belongs in a magazine? This entire outfit definitely mixes trends worth trying. The black and white anchors the bright pop of color in the skirt and the statement necklace is so fun – the turquoise is perfect for spring/summer!

You have to check out Femi’s blog, Breakfast at Faymes for more fun outfit pics! Femi is from a small Caribbean island, was born and raised in Curacao, and moved to Amsterdam, Netherlands a little over 3 years ago.

About her look Femi wrote, “I am very versatile. I go with trends and my mood. I love colors, I love basics, I can do lady like and tough as well. I mix and match and try to go for the non-obvious.”

Somhrita Paris Hilton Look For Less

We spotted Paris Hilton wearing a Petro Zillia for Forever 21 dress and my Twitter bud Somhrita picked it up the second she saw our feature. I love that she rocked it like Paris mixing the feminine color-block dress with edgy flats and a moto jacket. Somhrita and her friend Rishika have great style and they have decided to showcase it in their new blog, p3rsonalspac3.

From Somhrita, “Colorblocking is such a cool trend since it allows you to combine so many different colors. It’s very spring appropriate too. I saw Jennifer post about this dress a week before the collection was out and I had to get it! I kept accessories to a minimal because it’s a very colorful dress. I wore some purple earrings, but you can barely see them hehe! I thought the leather jacket and rocker-esque flats toughens up this girly dress a bit!”
