Next Up For Target – A Collaboration with Jason Wu

Michelle Obama Jason Wu Target

I’m so excited about Target’s next collaboration with one of Michelle Obama’s favorite designers, Jason Wu. Remember her dress at the inaugural ball? Gorgeous! If you’re not familiar with his work, I’ve showcased a few of my fav pieces from his New York Fashion Week Spring 2012 collection above.

I’m trying to get over my bad attitude about Target collaborations after the Missoni debacle. I really want to be as excited about this collab, as I was about all the other affordable designer collections they’ve launched. I’m not sure what the solution is to managing this event properly (check out Who’s to Blame? Target or Ebay?), but I’m hoping this collab will go much better than the last. The Jason Wu line will hit Target February 5th, so they’ve got plenty of time to figure it out. Prices will range from $19.99 to $59.99 for apparel and $19.99 to $49.99 for handbags and scarves.

What do you all think about Target’s collaboration with Jason Wu? Are you excited to see what their next designer collection will have in store for all of us?

Extremely excited! But I agree, I hope this doesn’t turn out like the Missoni collab.

  2. I’m a fan of WU for Target, as long as there’s not an over abundance of polyester involved.

O and yes I am excited to i LOVE his clean feminine lines! I think he is great!!

  5. Yep, I’m with you. After the Missoni debaucle, I am not getting my hopes up. I guess all of there other collabs went smoothly, so perhaps this was just a fluke? LOL!

Honestly, I think the blogging world has a lot to do with what happen with Missoni. The viral nature of social media creates more buzz than any traditional marketing campaign…

Anyway, I guess I’ll just wait and see what happens in Feb. Wouldn’t mind having some of Wu’s super chic pieces in my wardrobe.

  6. Tracie says:

I have a feeling I will be passing on this collection but for my own personal reasons.

  7. Ale says:

Well, I would love to browse through it, but just as with relationships I am afraid I might get hurt pretty badly again after my experience with the Missoni mayhem.
