It’s the first week of fall and I’ve teamed up with Lulus.com to bring you a fun giveaway. Usually I kick start a season by highlighting a few fashionable trends, but instead, I’d like “you” to share what trends you think will be hot this fall. One lucky reader will win the dress of her choice from Lulus.com! ‘Tis the season for a fun party dress!

How to win – Show off the trend you think will be hot this fall by dressing up, taking a pic of yourself, and sharing it in the gallery below. PS – If someone already picked your trend, feel free to post it as well. That’s a great way to tell which trends are sure to be popular this fall.

Upload your fall trend pic to a website (ex. your blog, Flickr, TwitPic, Instagram, etc.) and then link to it in the gallery below (do not link to your entry in the comments, please use the widget in this post below). I stumbled across a fun online boutique called Fancy French Cologne and knew we had to get together for a collab. They let me pick out a couple of items and I couldn’t pass up their beautiful vintage inspired High Tea Top. It’s definitely in the spirit of the Mad Men 60s inspired fashion that’s so popular right now with its ivory floral tulle, high neckline, and single ruffles lining the half sleeves. It’s fully lined with a back zipper and runs true to size. LOVE!

Have any of you ever tried dry shampoo before? I LOVE it! I try not to wash my hair everyday to help preserve the color and health usually stripped by detergents in shampoo. Dry shampoo helps me get by with an extra day or two without washing it. If you’re new to dry shampoo, it is a wet powder that you spray into your roots that dries to soak up excess oil and makes your hair smell freshly washed. If you have thin hair, its great for adding a little texture.

One of my first reviews was for Salon Grafix Dry Shampoo. At the time, I thought it was the best thing ever, until TRESemmé sent me a bottle of their Fresh Start dry shampoo. I’m going to compare the two so that you can get an idea of what to look for in a dry shampoo.

• Sprayer: My main problem with the Salon Graffix dry shampoo was the sprayer. I got a buy one, get one half off deal and the sprayer on both bottles was broken. Luckily I was able to return them for replacements, but even the sprayers on the new bottles were spitting at me. The TRESemmé sprayer offers a super-fine even mist of dry shampoo. Who wants clumps of thick powder on top of unwashed hair?
• Color of Powder: The Salon Graffix dry shampoos come in a variety of colors such as brunette, black, and blonde. I loved this idea at first, but after a while, I found brown overspray on my floor and in my ears lol. Dry shampoo gives your hair a matte finish, so I never spray it on top of my hair. I always spray it in sections under my part and push it through the rest of my hair. Therefore, I prefer the clear/white of the TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoo.
• Availability: I couldn’t find the Salon Grafix dry shampoo anywhere in town, so I had to purchase it online. I have seen the TRESemmé in all drugstores, WalMart, and Target.

New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2011 Manicures by CND

CND, Creative Nail Design, is the authority on New York Fashion Week manicures. There’s a reason this brand is heavily sought after by designers for their runway fashion shows. Nail art addicts, like myself, get so excited when the backstage images come in and and can’t wait to start recreating the looks. In the spirit of Fall that is just days away, I thought it would be fun to look back to the Fall 2011 fashion week runway shows that took place in February to see what manicures will undoubtedly influence this season’s hottest manicures.
