I’d love to pretend that meeting Britney Spears was just an average Saturday night for me, but I’m afraid that the huge smile on my face days later would say otherwise. You’re probably wondering how I ended up backstage at her concert and it’s crazy because my husband JH (left above) is actually friends with Britney’s dad, Jamie Spears.

JH has been great friends with Ricky Carmichael, nicknamed in the sports world as the G.O.A.T (greatest of all time) of Motocross and Supercross, for years now. If you’re not too familiar with the MX/SX sport, check out the site I did for Ricky to get more scoop. We actually all go way back – I met Ricky, his then girlfriend Ursula (my good bud) and JH the same night exactly 10 years ago this month. Since then my husband and I were in their wedding, they were in mine, and we’ve had so many good times in between, but this night may be one of the best!

I saw a pic of Essie’s Tart Deco on my bud Trina’s Facebook page and ran out to get it right away. I was on a huge coral kick in spring, but I’m loving this toned down version of the popular color for summer. I’d say this is more of a peachy orange creme coral, compared to red corals that I was hooked on last season (check out my previous posts on Essie’s California Coral and Sally Hansen’s Kook-A-Mango).

This color is beautiful against a summer tan. The shade is light to medium in the bottle, but somehow it seems to have a bright glow against my tan. I love it so much that I’m wearing it on my fingers and toes right now. What do you think of Essie’s Tart Deco? Is this a color you would try?

Eva Longoria, star of Desperate Housewives, was spotted in NYC last week at Microsoft’s Imagine Cup World Finals, wearing this chic shift dress by ASOS, paired with Brian Atwood slingback platform pumps. She was there to present the People’s Choice Award at the Microsoft sponsored event and kept her look simple, by wearing no jewelry, basic makeup and her hair in a ponytail. Eva’s looks are always so effortless but statement making at the same time.
