Nude Heels For Spring - Get The Look For Less

Nude heels are a MUST-HAVE for Spring 2010. In fact, I plan on OD’ing on light neutrals, florals, and pastels for the upcoming season. Here are the 3 nude pumps that I’ve narrowed my selection down to, and I didn’t have to look any further than Zappos.com. I love that they offer free shipping and free (365 day) return shipping on all orders!

The first pair are the Catch Me woven leather pumps for $97.97. I think these are so on-trend right now; however, a nude pump should be a basic that can be worn with everything in your closet, so I’m undecided on this pair. The next pair are the Roxy cross-cut strappy pumps by Promiscuous and sell for $74.00. I love the platform and the covered heel on these pumps; however, they may be a bit dark to count as a nude. The third pair of pumps are the Love Me caged platform pumps for $70.50 (last seen in our L.A.M.B. Steal the Real), and I believe they may be the most wearable of the three. Hope you’ll help me decide – fashion over function, or both?

I’ve received several invitations to enroll in these “invite only” shopping websites that sell designer items for less and have been able to resist the urge… until now!!! The invite only shopping sites feature a designer a day with deeply discounted shoes, apparel, accessories, home, and more. When I first heard of these sites, I assumed it would be picked over items that they couldn’t sell at their outlet stores, but I was so wrong. They offer current trends that are featured in high-end department stores. So why did I decide to give in today… I have an easy answer, Nicole Miller and BCBG.

Billion Dollar Babes is featuring one of my favorite designers, Nicole Miller and they are offering an amazing selection for almost 75% off. I just can’t get over it. In terms of designer pricing, Nicole Miller has always been reasonable, but with Billion Dollar Babes, I can officially get “The Look For Less”. I wore a Nicole Miller dress when I got married last year and I absolutely ADORE my dress (seen here and here)! I’m all over this sale.

Another one of my splurge designers, BCBG, is coming up Wednesday, Feb 10th at RueLaLa.com. In fact, I wore BCBG for my wedding rehearsal (seen here and here), haha. It was a BCBG and Nicole Miller weekend for me, unfortunately not at discounted prices, and now they are both being served up by these invite only shopping sites!!! They even have Gucci watches on sale now starting at $249 (from $545). If you ever wanted to invest in a designer piece, now is the time! Whew, what a great week for shopping!

Update: I had to add HauteLook to the list of kick-ass invite only sites. They carry heavy-hitting designers such as Herve Leger and 7 For All Manking (jeans starting at $99) today and check back tomorrow for Rock and Republic.

When you click on the links above, you will be automatically invited to either “invite only” shopping site. Joining is free.

OPI YouDon't Know Jacques! w/ Essie Matte Top Coat - Get The Look For Less

Update Ok, I just couldn’t help myself… I had to go ahead and try out the Essie “Matte About You” top coat and it is too cool. You paint it on to any shiny nail polish and it slowly turns matte right before your eyes. It is crazy cool. This is also the top coat you will want to wear with any matte nail polish, as you would not want to ruin the finish with a shiny top coat. You have to try this out. As I mentioned earlier in this posts, matte finishes are very popular right now, and now you can matte any of your favorite colors.

Earlier Today: I was on MarieClaire.com the other day and came across the most beautiful manicure post that featured nail polish by OPI. I thought it was such a great idea to get to see nail polish on nails before you purchase, rather than in the bottle. If you’re anything like me, I stand at the nail polish section in Target and walk out with every nail a different color because I have to try before I buy (while no one is looking of course, hahah).

One thing led to another and while searching for more pics of people wearing nail polish, I stumbled upon All You Desire, a blog all about nail polish and I was totally inspired. In fact, so inspired, that I immediately went to Amazon.com and purchased eight colors, including the matte Russian Navy featured in the Marie Claire post. The first bottle to come in was the You Don’t Know Jacques! (NLF15), so I tried it on immediately and I love it!!! This color is available in matte, suede (shimmery) and shiny, which is the finish I’m wearing. I clipped my nails to be similar in length to the Maire Claire nails, painted away, and thought I’d blog all about it. Stay tuned for pics because I’d love to do this again sometime. I will definitely blog about the matte Russian Navy when it comes in… oh, I can’t wait!!!

The Look For Less at PinkAndPosh.net

Just a note to let you all know about my latest and greatest. PinkAndPosh.net contacted me to see if I was interested in guest blogging for their “looks for less” segments and of course, I jumped at the chance to be a part of their super fun site.

PinkAndPosh.net was created by Jeri Maxedon, who, after a successful career in the corporate world, found a new purpose as a stay-at-home-mom to her two adorable children. She began blogging as a fun way to get some “mommy time” and soon found herself intrigued. While catering to the typical mommy topics, she also wanted to encourage other moms to remember the women they were BEFORE children with topics like fashion, beauty and the very “mommy blog” taboo topic SEX. I’m so excited to be a part of her blog! Check out my intro and I hope you’ll visit my “looks for less” posts every Friday at PinkAndPosh.net.

Kristin Cavallari - Get The Celebrity Look For Less

This celebrity look for less goes out to our reader, Danelle. She emailed us to say, “I saw this pic of kristin cavalleri and I need this sweater. i cannot find it anywhere, I knew if any one could help me you could!”.

I am so in love with Kristin’s easy, California cool style, so I was very excited about this reader request. I’d recommend going with a sweater in one size larger than you usually wear to get Kristin’s oversized comfy L.A. street style.

This post was featured at PinkAndPosh.net. I will be a guest blogger for PinkAndPosh.net contributing “looks for less” posts to their site every Friday. Be sure to check them out!

Short Bob w/ Long Bangs - Get The Look For Less

Update: Thanks for helping me decide on my new do. I posted this poll a couple of months ago, but when the Rihanna do won, I decided to wait until the beginning of the year so that I could keep it long throughout winter. I went almost as short as Rihanna because I didn’t want to go into shock, but I’m going back for a bit shorter when I am in the mood for spring. The back is completely gone, almost buzzed, and there there are long pieces in the front. Thanks again for helping me decide and I will post more pics soon.

November 1, 2009: This makes me so freakin nervous, but I trust my readers. I’m in need of a change and I’m ready for a new do. I can’t decide between taking it all off Rihanna style, or just some shaggy Kate Moss layers. I used to have super short, Halle Berry style hair and grew it all out for my wedding. I’ve gone to the hair dresser a couple of times since then to cut it off, but for some reason, my heart starts to race.

For the past decade, I’ve had every version of short hair, and for some reason, I’ve become so chicken lately. In fact, my hairdresser used to save magazine covers for me knowing that of his clients, I’d be the only one that would go for it. Now he just laughs at me when I freak out. I hope I have the nerve to go through with whatever you all decide for me. Please vote below.

Which cut should I get?

  • Rihanna's Short Rocker Chic Bob (57% - 104 votes)
  • Kate Moss's Carefree Long Layers (43% - 94 votes)

AffodableScarves.com - Get The Missoni Look For Less

I have to admit, I was never a big fan of scarves, until now!!! I just hadn’t found a scarf that I was wow’ed by for myself, but always LOVED the look on everyone else. My sister is the queen mixing an adorable scarf with a tee, a super cute fitted jacket, and jeans and I’ve always thought her style was so fun.

AffordableScarves.com offered to send me the scarf of my choice and I couldn’t resist the Megan Sparkle Scarf. I got it in the mail yesterday, wore it with my new Christmas jacket, and received soooo many compliments! The color is beautiful and I love that it translates well for any season. It has a hint of a gold sheen and luckily, it wasn’t made with that cheap glittery thread that tends to be itchy. Beyond the beautiful color and comfy fabric, the infinity style is so on trend and the pattern is very Missoni. Five stars for this scarf, and the best part, it is only $14.95!!!

Zac Posen for Target

In case you missed my Designers for Less – Jean Paul Gaultier post last week, then please allow me to share my excitement with you about Target’s GO International™ program. GO International™ is an innovative program that provides affordable fashion lines, created by top fashion designers, to Target’s customers at the prices they expect from Target. Target is pumping out the high fashion faster than I can keep up!!! In September, Go International™ brought us Anna Sui (I picked up a few pieces and love love love), currently available is Rodarte, on March 7th – Jean Paul Gaultier, and on April 25th… Zac Posen!!! Mark your calendars!

The Zac Posen collection above is by far my favorite Go International™ designer fashion line! I am saving all of my pennies, in addition to my every Christmas and birthday gift card (yes, everyone sends me Tarshay gift cards cuz it’s all I ever want), for Zac Posen’s AMAZING affordable fashion line! I want every piece. This collection was seriously designed for “me”!!! All of the Go International™ designer fashion lines have been amazing; however, I think that Zac Posen truly shut it down with this collection. You can tell that it was not just a line to appease the masses and make a little money during the recession while focusing on his celebrity clients. He designed so many pieces, they are all so well thought out, and are so unreal.
